The Council of Representatives of the American Physical Society has elected UvA physicist Daniel Bonn as a Fellow. The fellowship of the APS is a prestigious recognition of outstanding contributions to physics.Annually, only a small number of physicists are elected Fellow by their peers: the number of new Fellows is limited to no more than one half percent of the existing members. Bonn receives the fellowship with the following citation:
For significant contributions to the mechanics and flow stability of a wide range of simple and complex fluids, including granular fluids, yield-stress fluids, concentrated suspensions, emulsions, and polymer solutions, with particular applications to shear banding, droplets, and jets.
Bonn will receive the fellowship certificate during the annual meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics.
