The fellowship of the APS is a prestigious recognition of outstanding contributions to physics.Annually, only a small number of physicists are elected Fellow by their peers: the number of new Fellows is limited to no more than one half percent of the existing members. Bonn receives the fellowship with the following citation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For significant contributions to the mechanics and flow stability of a wide range of simple and complex fluids, including granular fluids, yield-stress fluids, concentrated suspensions, emulsions, and polymer solutions, with particular applications to shear banding, droplets, and jets.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonn will receive the fellowship certificate during the annual meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Council of Representatives of the American Physical Society has elected UvA physicist Daniel Bonn as a Fellow.
